Vocal music is an especially powerful form of communication that can encourage a better understanding of the struggles and achievements that define people and can develop values that sustain people in life’s experiences.  It has a unique power to create community.  Throughout its rich cultural history and directly because of its melding of poetry and music, vocal music has had a place in all celebrations of life - to herald new life, mourn the passing of life, mark holidays, and to explore the human condition.
The Phoenix Quartet is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit corporation and donations are tax-deductible as determined by law.

The Phoenix Quartet is proud to be a member of
Chamber Music America
The Phoenix Quartet performed an afternoon of moving and powerful music drawn from America's periods of major strife this past Sunday, June 11. Before a large and responsive audience, the ensemble performed groups of songs reflecting the wide range of emotions that stem from turmoil and peace, both inner and outer.

All of the music on the concert was composed or arranged by American composers, including several good friends of the Phoenix Quartet: Theodore Wiprud, Scott Warren, David Root, and Richard Pearson Thomas.  Continuing its mission of introducing new music for vocal quartet, the quartet presented the world premiere of a set of songs composed especially for it by Paul Stephan.

And, the Phoenix Quartet is happy to announce that it is already booked on the Christ Chapel Chamber Series next season: June 3, 2007.  Mark your calendars now!
