Vocal music is an especially powerful form of communication that can encourage a better understanding of the struggles and achievements that define people and can develop values that sustain people in life’s experiences.  It has a unique power to create community.  Throughout its rich cultural history and directly because of its melding of poetry and music, vocal music has had a place in all celebrations of life - to herald new life, mourn the passing of life, mark holidays, and to explore the human condition.

Thanks to all who made our concert last November, “Fairy Tales, Lullabies & a Nightcap!” a huge success!  I especially want to thank Lynn Weddington Tucker and Julie Klein for everything they did to make sure the concert and reception was a hit.

Additionally, I’d like to thank all the members of the Benefit Committee; for their support and generosity:  Dave Stampley, Virginia Brobyn, Sharon Deméré, Greg and Karen Dimit, Laura Heiman, David Orcutt, Linda Tempel and Peter Trippi. Many thanks also  to Couturier, Jane Wilson-Marquis for lending us beautiful gowns and men’s wear, Glaser’s Bake Shop for the fabulous sweets, Mister Wright’s Fine Wine & Spirits Alan Gwizdak of Arts & Flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements and Alan

Meet the Singer
We have a new feature on our Website called “Meet the Singer”. Periodically we will present a different member of Phoenix. Here's a look at Erica Row, our soprano:  check it out!
Klein from LA Café for the delicious hors d’oeuvres.  Thanks also to Leslie Giammanco, founder of Divagrams, for video-recording our concert - she created a lovely DVD of the evening for us.

Others who helped behind the scenes were: Tom Uzzo, Shawn Kelly, Beverly Nadine, Matt and Johanna Bain Johnson, Margaret Brown, Nica Val-Hackett, Caroline Tucker and friends.  The danger in thanking people by name is one inevitably leaves someone out.  If I have left anyone out, my apologies.

Thanks also to everyone who contributed to our end-of-year fund-raising campaign.  We have very loyal supporters and their contributions are what enable us to continue in our music making.
Thank you!
Calling all Phoenix Friends!
Would you like to be a part of the behind-the-scenes activities of The Phoenix Quartet?  We are beginning a drive to increase the size of our Board of Directors and are looking for supporters who would like to take this additional step of involvement and commitment.

The requirements for Board membership are minimal considering the return: knowing you are helping Phoenix continue on our quest.
